April was very productive. I have spent two weekend days at Baie-du-Febvre, where thousands
and thousands of geese stop to feed and rest during their spring migration. There were 200.000
of Snow Geese and Canada Geese reported.
I have made many photos. It is difficult to choose one or two. I like the following two the
most.

April is love time for Ring-billed Gulls and I was happy to spend a few evenings with them at Mount Royal Park. They are
incredibly colorfull at this time of year, and noisy as well. I never realized how beautiful
they are. I don't understand why many people don't like them! I am always so happy when
I hear them for the first time after long winter.
One evening, just a minute after the sunset I was lucky to observe one pair during their private times ...

In April we were often unlucky with the weather, especially on weekend days. It was almost rule that Saturdays
were rainy. On one such Saturday I made this shot of Black-capped Chickadee and I consider it one of my best
Chickadee shots. Chickadees are very difficult to photograph. They are fast, but you can not shoot them in full sun
because they are black and white and you would burn the whites or loose details in the blacks. I found overcast
conditi0ns the best for black and white birds.

The last photo for this month, a Painted Turtle, is from the Botanical Gardens in Montreal. There were about
ten of them bathing in the sun. I took this shot handholding my 400mm lens, wading knee-deep in the water.
