February was extremely cold and snowy. We still have almost 1m of snow. In February
I photographed water birds on several occasions. Presentd here is a photo of Goldeneyes
swimming in a group early in the morning at Besenova. It was around -20 when I took it.
Next photo is photo of a bat my friend has found and now takes care about. It is
a common Noctule Bat, which in cities winters between concrete blocks in high storey
buildings.
On one excursion I have discovered a great place for waterfowl photography near my house.
It is on a river Vah near Ivachnova. People use to feed ducks there so the birds are quite
tame. The photo of flying mallard female if from that place.
